Statement: Our border is overwhelmed. I keep hearing claims that the border is ‘open’. Nonsense.
We have record apprehensions and seizures, empirical proof that the border is not ‘open’. It’s overwhelmed.

My Rebuttal: Regardless of what we call it, the border is anything but secure. America cannot sustain an influx of 5000 to 20000 immigrants a day crossing our southern border. Regardless of our humanitarian wishes, it is not possible. We cannot even sustain our own population; poverty is ranked as the number 4 cause of death in the US. Until we solve our own wealth/poverty ratio we cannot compound it by accepting immigrants/migrants that only add to the problem.  Additi America cannot sustain an influx of 5000 to 20000 immigrants a day crossing our southern border. Regardless of our humanitarian wishes, it is not possible.

We must SECURE the southern border and do everything in our power to change the conditions in the countries that these people are coming from. Ultimately OUR only solution is the solution in THIER countries.  There is also the problem of almost unrestricted drugs flowing into the US, as well as guns flowing from the US into Mexico. Stopping record amounts or not, we are only catching a small portion of the amount being trafficked (see War on Drugs).

We must SECURE the southern border. Understanding that it can never be completely locked down we must do what we can to secure it.  Building additional sections to the wall where practical and adding additional surveillance and personnel would be a great improvement. Entry points and checkpoints are some of the weakest links. Additional manpower and technological improvements’ need to be made.

Making the border more secure will be expensive, but the cost of not securing the border is much worse. What is the cost of migrant camps, courts, transportation (both in the US and in sending migrants back to their countries, not to mention the cost of the War on Drugs that we are dramatically losing. These costs are just a small part of the total cost and to not even take into consideration of the emotional and physical cost to the migrants in getting to the US and then trying to stay in the US.

pol- War on Drugs

pol-51100 – War on Drugs

Drugs are freely flowing into the US for one reason. Profit. American gun makers are making immense profits from arms being sold to Mexican drug cartels. The Drug cartels are making immense profits from the uncontrolled drug proliferatin in the US.

nap-End of the American Nation

nap-3000400 End of the American Nation

America no longer exists as a nation. It has become 50 states bound together in name only. When citizens of one state must flee to another for sanctuary you can no longer say the live in the same country. America has become 50 states divided by bigotry, fear, hate, and mistrust.

We have already experienced one failed insurrection, will there be another one in 2024, or even sooner?

Over the last six years the Democrats have failed America. They have allowed the far right maga evangelical movement (Magelicans) to take over a majority of the political power of the nation. Magelican majorities now contorl most state governments and the United Stataes House of representatives.

Use it of Lose it..
The end of democracy in America will not come at the hands of the Magelicans. It will come because of the failure of democracy. The failure of the average American to participate in their government.

====== DEFINITIONS ==========
Immigration and migration are often used interchangeably, but they actually have different meanings.

Immigration refers to the act of moving to a new country with the intention of living there permanently. In other words, it involves crossing international borders to settle in a foreign country. Immigration usually involves a legal process and requires obtaining a visa or other form of authorization to enter and live in the destination country.

Migration, on the other hand, refers to the act of moving from one place to another, whether within a country or across international borders. It can be temporary or permanent, voluntary or forced, and can involve individuals or groups of people. Migration can occur for a variety of reasons, such as seeking better economic opportunities, escaping conflict or persecution, or simply wanting to experience a different way of life.

In summary, while both immigration and migration involve moving from one place to another, immigration specifically refers to moving to a new country with the intention of living there permanently, while migration refers to any type of movement from one place to another, regardless of the destination or duration of stay.

Asylum, on the other hand, is a legal status that may be granted to individuals who have fled their home country due to a well-founded fear of persecution based on their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. Asylum seekers must apply for protection in the country where they seek refuge and must demonstrate that they meet the legal criteria for asylum.

In summary, immigration is a broader term that refers to the process of moving to a new country, while asylum is a specific legal status granted to individuals who have fled persecution in their home country.

nap-1st Amendment

nap-501000 – 1st Amendment – Freedom of Speech wiki

The First Amendment guarantees Americans the freedom of speech, or does it? In reality it guarantees politicians the right to lie, intimidate, and threaten anyone who opposes their views.

Freedom of speech is the greatest of our rights, guaranteed to us in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. It is also the Achilles heel of democracy.

A captocracy is a government run by corporations and the ultra rich in which profit is the guiding factor in all political and non-political decisions.

nap-Separation of Church and State

nap-103300 – Separation of Church and State

The separation of church and state is one of the founding principles of the United States of America. One of the primary reasons for the founding of America was to esca[e the chains of religious intolerance. Sadly, to many Americans’ have forgotten our countries’ history, or just do not care.

Ronald Regan
Republicans of the past understood the need for religious freedom.

Every day MAGA supermajorities further erode the separation of church and state.
