If you are new to video animation then CSP is a good place to start. At $67 the cost of the base package per day is very reasonable. It is worth it for all of the assets it includes. I would definitely not do any upgrades until you are sure you are going to use the app enough to make them worth it. You can add them any time.

The most important thing you shoud do before you buy CSP is to decide how you will use the program. If you want to really get in and learn animation and video editing then the Basic Package has all you will need to get started.
If you are new to video and animation and want to just start making videos then you will quickly need the All Access Pass so you modify the templates to meet your needs. I still recommend using the Basic Package until you are sure you need the additional assets. You can easily upgrade any time from the options on the opening screen (You cannot miss them).
Getting Organized.
You should give some thought as to how you will organize the information you will need when making videos. CSP is limited in how you can save the components you make for reuse later. You will have many, many items that you will want to reuse. If you do not effectively organize your file folders you will soon have a problem locating items you need.
